Common Cause magazine

Article Abstract:

The 'Common Cause' magazine concentrates on transactions and corruption in the political scene. The article 'George Bush's Ruling Class' describes the privileges extended to the representatives of Team 100. The members were allowed access to privileged information contained in government documents, Federal Election Commission (FEC) reports, congressional investigative reports and industry reports. A database maintained on Paradox 3.5 on an IBM PS/2, updated frequently with FEC information, helped the maintenance of facts related to monetary donations by individuals and companies.

The long-awaited Food Lion ruling

Article Abstract:

An examination is presented on the reversal of Food Lion Inc.'s punitive damages award against American Broadcasting Companies Inc. for fraud, along with its implications for investigative reporting practices. The reversal was based on the grocery chain's inability to prove that employment misrepresentation by ABC reporters directly caused the damages it alleged.
