Emissions glitch: Polluting cars OK'd for streets after improper testing procedures

Article Abstract:

In Connecticut hundreds of polluting vehicles passed the new emission test under questionable and possible fraudulent circumstances because a key exhaust gas was not properly measured. After looking for a suspicious testing pattern, following a tip from the industry source Courant reporters indicated that garages were using an inappropriate, and possibly fraudulent, loophole to pars cars that failed their initial test.

Ticket fix: City insiders dodge parking fines; database reveals biggest offenders

Article Abstract:

'The Ticket Fix', a 2,000-word front-page report elaborated how a select few New York city insiders get many of their parking tickets dismissed. Some of the insider's dismissed violations are for parking at expired meters while some dismissals also included expired inspections and expired registration stickers.

House arrest: offenders found running free on streets

Article Abstract:

In Florida, most criminals have their house arrest revoked because of recurring violations. Florida's Department of Corrections (DOC) policy guarded the privacy of criminals under house arrest from neighbors, the press, and even police.
