Financing our best work

Article Abstract:

The Fund for Investigative Journalism has helped to finance exposes of harmful and wrong activities including government corruption, environmental and human rights abuse and unsafe medical practices for almost 30 years. Freelance writers and reporters have thus been able to produce nearly 700 amazing stories and broadcasts and almost 50 books based on investigations conducted on neglected areas of society. The Fund has made various grants for investigations such as the possible link between a small New Jersey town and an inadequate garbage disposal and the war in South Africa's Transkei province.
