Private hells and radical doubts: an interview with Jonathan Lethem

Article Abstract:

Author Jonathan Lethem began his career in writing with the 1989 short story, 'The Cave Beneath the Falls.' This was followed by other notable works, including the award-winning 'The Happy Man,' 'Five Fucks,' 'Gun, with Occasional Music' and 'The Wall of the Sky, the Wall of the Eye.' Lethem, who considers Raymond Chandler, Philip K. Dick and Don DeLillo as major influences in his writing, is confident that he will never leave science fiction writing, although he claims that his work will always be linked to other sources, realms and traditions.
