Researching an assassination

Article Abstract:

A journalist describes his efforts to investigate the assassination of his father, Walter Liggett, in 1935. Liggett was a leftist writer and journalist. Minnesota Governor Floyd B. Olson is suspected in the assassination. Liggett had accused the governor of betraying the ideals of the Farmer-Labor party. The journalist investigates the murder case by using testimonials of various persons and records from libraries and archives. The FBI has refused to help in the investigation and is withholding documents, citing reasons of national security.
