Three firms battle to build new LCS Warship

Article Abstract:

Three of America's major defense contractors have been chosen as semi-finalists from the six competing teams who submitted proposals to design the next-generation Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) for the Navy. The Navy now needs to prioritize its requirement and choose between speeds of over 60 knots offered by Lockheed Martin's design, stability, large size and the ability to land large helicopters offered by General Dynamics' design and underwater minehunting capabilities offered by Raytheon's design.
