1950s/1960s: A new force in TV

Article Abstract:

In the beginning days Independent Television (ITV) experienced losses for some time, soon it bounced back and became the main competitor for the British Broadcasting Corporation. By the end of 1957 the revenues increased dramatically making ITV as leading broadcaster in United Kingdom. Innovative dramas and more emphasis on sports events are the main reasons for this success.
