A sporting life

Article Abstract:

Barbara Slater, a former Olympics gymnast, has been appointed to head of general sports at BBC. Slater had joined BBC in 1983 as a graduate trainee, where she worked her way up from producer of a variety of sports to executive producer of golf. Her knowledge of sports is definitely useful in her new position, though some are concerned about how the amount of administrative work in the position will effect her performance.
