BBC radio cleans up at Sony awards

Article Abstract:

BBC won awards in 20 out of the total 29 categories during the Sony Radio Awards for 1998. BBC Radio 5 Live led the pack with its Station of the Year award as well as five other gold awards during the awards ceremony, which was conducted on May 7, 1998, in London, UK. BBC also won the Event Gold Award for its coverage of the funeral of Princess Diana, as well as four gold awards each for its BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 1 stations.

RA awards London license to Choice

Article Abstract:

Choice FM was recently awarded the highly sought after local analogue license for north and north-west London by the Radio Authority. The Soul Media-owned station triumphed over 19 other applicants. The move means that choice will have an audience of more than two million adults across Greater London.
