Big two revise film acquisition policy

Article Abstract:

ITV and BBC have announced that they are considering a change in their acquisition policies for movies and series because of the inflated prices that Hollywood studios charge for over-rated and under-performing packages. David Liddiment, ITV director of programs, said the company will seek for exclusivity in its deals as well as buy out the pay window, which may be a more expensive strategy. Alan Howden, controller and program acquisition head of BBC, said his company shares Liddiment's move to change its acquisition policies.
