Bitter pills, hard targets

Article Abstract:

ITV executive chairman Michael Grade has presented a five-year plan for the company, which received widespread criticism from independent producers resentment from its regional offices. The television broadcasting industry also expressed dissapointment in the plan, considering the company's forecast as nothing new. Grade's strategy for ITV and the reactions it received are discussed.

Howie joins ITV commissioning unit

Article Abstract:

Diana Howie, who was UKTV's acting head of commissioning, has joined Independent Television (ITV) as its new commissioning editor for features. This and other appointments are part of ITV's continuing efforts to restructure its commissioning system.
