Article Abstract:

The UK television program distribution sector is flourishing, with a registered total turnover of 940.95 million pounds in Broadcast's 2007 survey of 30 distributors. Numerous mergers and acquisitions between larger corporations and independent companies are expected in the next year. An overview of the booming television distribution market and a brief description of the survey methodology are given.

Online social network Bebo has created partnerships with Channel 4, BBC, Sky, CBS and ITN, representing an evolution of television and online broadcasting as well. The deal enables broadcasters to use Bebo as a marketing platform, offering free clips to its 40 million members. Other impications of the newly created link between the two media are given.
