Article Abstract:

and Birmingham studios are facing closure and many employees will be rendered jobless as it was announced that 400 jobs would be cut in the region. Some workers at Nottingham still suspect that they were expendable because it was politically unthinkable to close down news presentation and studios in Birmingham, which is the nation's second city.

200 more jobs to go in ITV regions

Article Abstract:

The consequence of OfcomEs proposal to cut down ITV regional programme commitments will be that 200 jobs will be axed. Ofcom had suggested that ITV cut down its non-news regional news output to half and phase it out altogether. The recent merger of Carlton and Granada had already cut 1,000 jobs.
