The British Broadcasting Corporation Ltd.'s (BBC) Charter renewal campaign is being launched; however, the United Kingdom's media secretary Tessa Jowell promised that the BBC would have a full review of the way the corporation is funded, operated, and governed. Public service broadcasters in other countries have more regulations, tighter funding, and a variety of governance structures, which the United Kingdom should consider

OFT turns up heat under BBC

Office of Fair Trading has requested the Department for Culture, Media and Sport to grant more powers to Office of Communications (Ofcom) for enabling it to investigate the impact of BBC's licenses. Department of Culture, Media and Sport's green paper is looking to Ofcom for advise on how the BBC's licenses are creating unfair trade practices.
