Director Jonze backs free web-TV channel

Article Abstract:

Hollywood film director Spike Jonze of the "Being John Malkovich" fame is supporting a free online television station VBS.tv, which was spun off from the magazine Vice. Jonze will act as creative director, and the station will feature mostly 30-minute programs. Other features of the station are discussed.

Producer surrenders credit in doc dispute

Article Abstract:

Justin Linnane, producer of the documentary Inside Volvo Ocean Race on Sunset + Vine, asked not to be credited as producer of the six-part series after being involved in a creative dispute. According to him he was pressured by Sunset + Vine to tone down the content of the documentary.

Scots embrace industry review

The Scottish Broadcasting Commission will be recommending actions to the Scottish Parliament in line with its review of Scottish TV production and broadcasting. The Scottish TV industry hopes to avoid being used as a political football.
