Article Abstract:
The dominance of English textbooks in India illustrates the need for indigenous publishers to overcome the cultural imperialism of white men. Book publishing has an essential social and political meaning which ties into history and institutions. Although India is politically independent of Britain, cultural independence is incomplete.

Telecom, national development and the Indian state: a postcolonial critique
Article Abstract:
The way in which the global discourse of telecom for development clashed with competing discourses in the context of the postcolonial Indian state is discussed. The two distinct periods of telecom policy-making that preceded the era of globalization in the 1990s are examined.

Relative constancy of advertising spending: A cross-national examination of advertising expenditures and their determinants

The principle of relative constancy across more than 70 nations over time is empirically examined. The national economy, as reflected by GDP is the most obvious explanatory variable in advertising spending.
