Free speech and religious sensitivity

Article Abstract:

The question on freedom of expression and the extent to which freedom can legitimately be used when religious and cultural sensitivities of certain groups are affected is debated. It is suggested that when dealing with issues that inflame the passions of religious groups or minority groups, the media and the state should adopt ethical codes or foreign policies that are balanced and ensure impartiality.

Once were peripheral: Creating media capacity in East Asia

Article Abstract:

The manner in which US and European media businesses move outwards and into East Asian frontier markets and the development of cultural export strategies are discussed. A five-part framework of internationalization, which suggests a balanced appraisal of challenges in mid-size markets wanting to tap international content markets, is given.

Understanding speech rights: defensive and empowering approaches to the First Amendment

The Liberal Democratic theory to provide a philosophical foundation for understanding the relationship between speech rights and democracy is focused on. The way legal interpretations of the first amendment manifest and reinforce these defensive and empowering theories is demonstrated.
