The 'X' factor

Article Abstract:

Radio station XFM has made a number failed applications to obtain a permanent FM frequency for London, England, but has now learned from its mistakes, according to founder Chris Parry. It has now submitted a new bid, and has taken care to establish links with well-known partners to boost its reputation. It faces strong competition, with 25 applications having been made, and some observers have expressed the view that its format, with 75% of the music it plays being less than three months old, is not mainstream enough.
