The German television broadcasting industry, where British content has a steady presence, is performing well with gross advertising revenues for the first half of 2007 listed at 4.2 billion pounds up 6.7% year on year. Broadcasting companies RTL Group, ProSiebenSat.1, ARD and ZDF dominate the industry, with its cable and sattelite television market expanding. Profiles of these companies are also presented.

The industry, which has a market size of 7.4 million TV homes, is dominated by free-to-air commercial broadcast networks Seven, Nine, and Ten.
