Internet radio: a case study in medium specificity

Article Abstract:

Issues concerning the use of the word "eradio" to define Internet radio are examined, focusing on whether audio streams over the Internet can actually be deemed "radio" and how media analysts separate one form of media from another in the technological age. Topics include medium specificity, Internet history, freedom on the Internet, corporate influence, and the publication of a trade magazine "eradio."
