Is ITV the weakest link?

Article Abstract:

BBC2, a minority channel, often attracts a 25% share at 17.00 with its two programmes 'Ready Steady Cook' and 'Weakest Link' while ITV1's 17.00-18.00 line-up has consistently dropped below ten percent. As a pre-condition for the Carlton/Granada merger ITV must use its overall share of commercial impacts as a base for airtime negotiations by maximizing audience across the whole of its schedule in order to maintain its position in the advertising market.
