A new UK government agency called Ofcom will regulate the broadcasting and telecommunication industries. It will be created from the agencies that currently regulate those areas, and its responsibilities will include making market share judgments as well as deciding quality programming standards.

Broadcasters fight ban on junk food ads

Article Abstract:

Tessa Jowell, Media secretary and spokeswoman for the Department of Culture, Media and Sport informed that advertising code for junk food would be tightened for kids under 12. Broadcasters have not taken this well because it means about 30 million pound a week.
