Long-awaited good news sees shares fly

UK broadcasting industry stocks rose in the week ending October 2, 2007, amidst Deutche Bank's negative statement about the industry. Blinkx's stocks were up 15.5% as it expects high first-half financial results, while Emap listed a 4.7% increase in its shares after stating that the company is confident in selling its B2B magazine business. A shares listing in the UK broadcasting industry is also provided.

Media shares enjoy a rare boost after rate cut

Article Abstract:

The shares of the majority of media companies have increased for the first time since October 2007 due to the quarter-point interest rate cut. Mergers and acquisitions led to the large movement in share prices closing December 12. The investor relations of Emap which led to a dip in its share price and BSkyB's share price appreciation are also discussed.
