Merger most horrid?

Article Abstract:

The proposed Carlton - United News and Media merger would virtually establish a duopoly within Independent Television (ITV). When Granada hinted at counter proposals to both Carlton and United, the Independent Television Commission argued that any of the potential mergers would be a regulatory nightmare.

Sioned Wiliam, Independent Television (ITV) controller of comedy, is developing sitcoms and sketch-based pilots from a one million pound fund set up in 2000 by director of programmes David Liddiment. ITV hasn't produced a successful sitcom in over two years.

ITC to trim ITV quotas

Article Abstract:

ITV's regional programming quotas could be reduced according to a plan by the Independent Television Commission (ITC). The ITC is proposing that minimum quotas in the future should apply only to news, current affairs, and "other."
