Shrinking television production company budgets continue to nag the 3D graphics and animation industry. 3D facilities such as Aldis Animations claim title sequence work is no longer the bread and butter of the industry, and can only be accepted with a minimum price level, or as part of a titles and content package.

Life support for toons: does UK animation industry need a lifeline in the shape of government subsidies to stem the flow of productions, such as Hilltop Hospital, overseas?

Article Abstract:

Siriol Productions ITV series Hilltop Hospital was animated by French firm Folimage essentially reducing the number of UK animation jobs. This is an ongoing trend for the animation industry in the UK. Licensing fees are low opening the UK industry to pilferage from other countries.
