Peers threaten Ofcom mutiny

Article Abstract:

Some Labour Party members of the House of Lords may support a Tory measure to bring the BBC under the full control of Ofcom. Broadcaster Lord Melvyn Bragg says that leaving the BBC out from under the jurisdiction of Ofcom makes no sense. Towers Perrin has recommended that Ofcom be split into the five divisions of audience interests; communications strategy and policy; networks, service and spectrum planning; networks and service compliance; and spectrom customer services for non-broadcast and non-telecoms users.
