Playing by American rules

Article Abstract:

The US television broadcasting industry is currently experiencing a period of rapid change. Deregulation is allowing television broadcasters to move into new areas, and the traditional boundaries between network and station ownership, programme production and syndication are becoming blurred. Further new opportunities will be created when the Federal Communications Commission allocates a second, digital channel to each existing broadcast channel in spring 1997. Latest developments will be reflected at the Natpe 97 programming market.
