The digital versatile disc (DVD) industry in Europe achieved success over the Christmas holiday, and estimates DVD players will be in more than 50 million homes by 2005. Challenges faced by the industry include pricing points, value-added extras and audio-visual quality.

Polar expedition: The angst-ridden arctic bears created by Passion Pictures for Tiger Aspect's Lenny Henry in Pieces were born in France and live in a zoo inspired by Dudley

Article Abstract:

Passion Pictures was contracted by Tiger Aspect Productions to create an animated short about polar bears in the zoo. The animation was done with the help of a studio in France, and the main difficulty was the French and English production teams agreeing on what was humorous.
