Renegotiating tradition on radio Zimbabwe

Article Abstract:

The invention of shona tradition in Chakafukidza Dzimba Matenga is focused which is a talk program regarded by the public service Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) as the flagship of its Radio Zimbabwe service .The way the public radio adapts materials from the past for use in this particular talk program modeled after the traditional shona dare is analyzed.

CCTV 'dialogue' = speaking + listening: A case analysis of a prestigious CCTV talk show series Dialogue

Article Abstract:

An analysis of the talk shows in the series 'Dialogue', which is titled 'The Future Starts NowE, is presented. It is seen that the show does not qualify as a medium for the interchange and discussion of ideas between the participants because the participants do not contribute equally and those who contribute more are like-minded.

Troubled closeness or satisfied distance? Researching media consumption and public orientation

Article Abstract:

The complexities and ambiguities of nearness and distance that media produce by considering Heidegger's writings on broadcast media are discussed. The way in which people experience and negotiate their relation to a public world and the role that media plays in sustaining or reducing this relation is explored.
