STE to make Lockerbie doc for ITV

Article Abstract:

Scottish Television Enterprises (STE) has been commissioned to make a one-off documentary by ITV network controller of documentaries, features and arts, Grant Mansfield. The contract calls for STE to produce a 1 x 60-minute documentary to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the Lockerbie air crash. The documentary, which is entitled "Surviving Lockerbie, will be shown around the anniversary of the disaster, which took place on Dec. 21, 1988. It will tell about how families affected by the air crash cope over the past ten years.

'Stuff' to beef up LWT

Article Abstract:

ITV has commissioned a 10-show late-night comedy review programme from LWT in its attempt to strengthen its post-prime time schedule and develop new talents. The program, entitled 'Stuff the Week,' will be taped on the day of transmission by four comedians, who worked earlier on BBC radio's Weekending. The program will combine studio discussions with material from roving cameras across London, UK, gathering unusual stories. LWT has also received a network commission for a 60-minute spoof documentary film entitled Bostock's Cup.

Sally Head remakes Thaw as Plastic Man

Article Abstract:

Sally Head Productions has received a contract from ITV to produce a new John Thaw drama, which has a working title, Plastic Man. The script of the 2x120 drama, which will was written by Robin Mukherjee, tells about the professional and private life of a plastic surgeon. Plastic Man will be directed by Sarah Piah Anderson and produced by Paul Marcus. Nick Elliott, head of drama at ITV, stated he expects the series to run once every year like Prime Suspect. Elliott also commissioned for 4x60-minute series entitled Four Father.
