Soap fans stick to the tried and tested formulas

Article Abstract:

The episode of "Coronation Street", wherein character Vera Duckworth died in her sleep, listed 12.4 million viewers or a 51% share. Only six shows in 2007 listed higher ratings than this feat, which goes to show that soap operas should follow tried and tested formulas in order to get higher ratings. The ratings of other television programs are also discussed.
