American Fisheries Society 2005-2009 Strategic Plan summary

Article Abstract:

A general background is provided about the new American Fisheries Society (AFS) 2005-2009 Strategic Plan and the way it was developed, as well as details on the priority focus areas and goals as agreed to by the AFS leadership. The plan was developed for AFS as a whole and identifies units within AFS that would most approximately be responsible for strategies, and targets in each goal.

Stream fisheries management in the United States: a survey of state agency programs

Article Abstract:

A survey on stream fisheries management in U.S was conducted with the aim of improving ecosystem integrity and increasing angling quality and opportunities. The results of completed warm water and coldwater surveys were analyzed and concluded that the state agencies has to have clear tasks, sufficient resources, latest information and cooperation with other groups and agencies.
