The politics and psychology of stereotyping

Article Abstract:

The concept of stereotyping is still in the process of development and it assumes a different meaning in different disciplines. 'Stereotyping and Social Reality' by Penelope J. Oakes, S. Alexander Haslam and John C. Turner and 'Stereotypes and Social Cognition' by Jacques-Philine Leyens, Vincent Yzerbyt and Georges Schadron lack the clear differentiation between stereotyping and stereotype. The evolution of alternative concepts will give it a definite meaning.

Article Abstract:

A comparison between the private, public and government controlled American media systems show the influence of corporate and government interests. A study shows that the deregulation effected little change in the character of mass media.
