The talent controller

Article Abstract:

David Docherty, BBC Broadcast's director of strategy and channel development, fears that the onset of digital technology could stifle creativity and innovation by producing a globalized industry. Creativity has an important role in public culture and broadcasters have a duty to offer a wide range of entertainment. The globalisation of the media industry must not be allowed to smother creativity, individuality and innovation.
