What's on the breakfast menu

Article Abstract:

United Kingdom television stations compete for viewers with their morning programs as ratings have dropped over the years. BBC1's Breakfast, GMTV and C4's The Big Breakfast and C5's 5 News at Breakfast have all made changes from hiring new hosts to changing sets and formats in an effort to boost ratings. Included are average morning show shares for the year 2000, and average channel share statistics for ages 16-24 year olds.

ITV 1 losses cost it dear in daytime

Article Abstract:

ITV 1 and BBC 1 are both losing shares of its daytime audience, primarily 16 to 34 year-olds that are moving away from commercial channels. Some argue that this demographic is finding employment during a thriving economy and that is why they are tuning out, while others say that it is more important to attract this demographic during primetime.
