British sports may not be as highly successful as locals would want it to be, but the good news for the television broadcasting industry is that big sporting events always garner high ratings. ITV's ratings for the football game between England and South Africa took in 15.1 million viewers, or 58%. Sporting highlights of the 21st century are also given.

Trauma ahead for Emmerdale as BBC1 strips against ITV1
