Forecasting output growth rates and median output growth rates: A hierarchical Bayesian approach

Article Abstract:

Techniques and analysis information regarding the forecasting of countries output growth rates and medians are given. Using the Hierarchical Bayesian model the author shows how the y-shrinkage forecast of Zellner and Hong emerges from a hierarchical bayesian model and describes how the Gibbs sampler can be used to fit this model.
