An aircraft carrier for the Information Age

Article Abstract:

The US Navy envisions a network-centric, knowledge-based aircraft carrier for the Information Age. Future aircraft carriers should be designed in the context of a new paradigm: the Information Age. Design engineers should focus on commercial-off-the-shelf technology, distributed firepower, agility, innovation, enhanced propulsion plants, reduced manpower requirements and knowledge and network-centricity.
