The development histories, funding details, and strategic missions of six new Navy systems are detailed: the Ticonderoga cruiser-conversion; Zumwalt destroyer; Wasp assault ship; San Antonio-class transport dock; the Multimission Maritime Patrol aircraft; and the Virginia-class submarine.
