Milestones, schedule set for prowler replacement

The U.S. Navy's procurement and development of next-generation carrier-based electronic attack aircraft is expected to reach operational capability by 2009. ...And into the sky

Article Abstract:

The technological and affordability challenges of the Navy's sea basing initiative to enhance mobility and reduce it's reliance on ports and harbors controlled by other nations, has given an idea of launching an unmanned glider with inflatable wings. The unmanned glider is expected to be easy-to assemble and disposable and may be launched from carrier ship to resupply future combat units ashore.
