Arresting development

Article Abstract:

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems has received a contract from the US Army Tank and Automotive Command for the development, production and delivery of 20 Portable Vehicle-Arresting Barriers (PVAB). Primex Technologies Inc, which was purchased by General Dynamics in Jan 2001, designed and developed the PVAB for the Dept of Defense-led Joint Non-Lethal Weapons program. The systems will become part of the Army's Non-Lethal Weapons Capability Sets.

Mechanical marksman

Article Abstract:

The Telepresent Rapid Aiming Platform (TRAP) from Precision Remotes Inc is a stationary mechanical sniper system that delivers accuracy of 0.2 inch at 100 yards. The TRAP is made up of a rifle, scope, gun camera and surveillance camera as well as an optional laser designator. It can be connected to meteorological instruments for the precise control of its aim point. TRAP can also attain its optimal aim point within 30 milliseconds.
