Beyond the interceptor system: Making individual body armor match the mission and the threat

Article Abstract:

The interceptor system in conjunction with world class medical care on the battlefield results in a very low casualty rate and the enhancement system enables the mariners to keep pace with the changing aspect of the desperate enemy. The future technology with armor protection level concept will reduce weight of the armor, which will make them more mobile and address nuclear, biological or chemical threats.

Safety, professionalism, and the Marine ethos

Article Abstract:

An emphasis on professionalism will have more effect on reducing unnecessary injuries than the infamous use of the operational risk management (ORM) process. Focusing on professionalism and Marines ethos will result in improved safety, reduces hazing, racial and sexual discrimination, drug abuse and other unprofessional acts.

Marine detachment 1

Article Abstract:

The issue of a permanent Marine Corps force contribution to the US Special Operations Command (USSOCom) was examined by creating Marine Corps Special Operation Command Detachment 1 (MCSOCom Det 1). MCSOCom Det 1, as a 'proof of concept', completed a successful deployment under the operational control of USSOCom.
