Briding the gaps in military robotics: NATO studies near-term unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs)

Article Abstract:

A white paper document prepared by the NATO Core Group, based on the interactions of a workshops held in My 2006, related to the military, industry, research and government areas from 16 mainly European countries, is presented. The document lists a series of technological gaps identified on the basis of the perceived differences between military needs on the one hand, and the expected level of technology by 2008 on the other, and provides roadmaps to describe which actions should be taken to bridge them.

Thai defence trade opportunities

Article Abstract:

New opportunities open for foreign defence equipment suppliers under the administration of Thaksin Shinawatra a proactive Thai Prime Minister elected in February 2005 is discussed. The Thai government is looking forward to an efficient Thai Armed forces with modernized equipment and interoperability between military branches and foreign allied forces.

Opening the European defence market
