Civil-Military operations: OIF II

Article Abstract:

A conference organized by the Commanding General (CG) Marine Force Reserves (MFR) in June 2005 was with an intention of improving the manner, in which MFR is organized, trained, equipped, and provided to combatant commanders for civil-military operations (CMO). Reorganization of civil affairs was also discussed in order to provide better support to the warfighting commander.

Warfighting: small unit leadership skills can be honed by examining combined action platoon operations during the Vietnam War

Article Abstract:

The author describes tactics used by small combined action platoons during the Vietnam War. He suggests that modern unit commanders lack the leadership skills of those small unit commanders.
