Datron Spectre V

Article Abstract:

Datron, formerly Transworld, has developed the new menu-driven 30- to 88-megahertz radio called Spectre V. The radio is operated by four push-buttons laid out similar to a game console. Spectre V is driven by a PowerPC microprocessor, making it adaptable to future software-based upgrades such as electronic warfare protection. It features PC-type slots for additional cards such as a Global Positioning System receiver. Spectre V has a full-band frequency hopping as well as data and voice digital encryption.

ICI wireless versatility

Article Abstract:

Innovative Concepts Inc (ICI) has unveiled a dual-channeled PCIDM that is fully compatible with the company's MIL-SPEC IDM avionics version of the IDM. The device permits users to integrate IDM communication capability into their personal computers through the installation of a standard type II PCMCIA card. ICI's PCIDM, which has no need for a 1553 bus interface, offers an effective alternative to the implementation of IDM technology for data transmission through wireless channels.
