Donating stock can benefit you, the navy league

Article Abstract:

Donating stock to the US Navy League helps the donor avoid paying capital gains taxes on appreciated securities and receive a charitable income tax deduction equal to the fair market value of the securities if it is held for longer than one year. The donation can divest portfolio of under-performing stocks and preserve cash for important needs while helping the US Navy League.

The United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps (NSCC) is designed to train its member cadets a sense of personal honor, patriotism, courage, self-reliance, and confidence, which will mold good character and citizenship. A generous contribution to NSCC is an investment in the nation's youth that enables them to grow into future leaders of the nation.
