Dornier delivers rescue to Berlin

Article Abstract:

Dornier is suppling mobile rescue centers called the Merz to the combat support ships being built by Luerssen Shipyards and Dasa. The Merz is composed of 25 special containers installed in two floors on the main deck and can be reached by an accessway. It can facilitate the treatment of 50 patients and is equipped by two operating rooms. It is also equipped with an X-ray area, dentists' rooms and laboratories. Its water, disposal systems and power supply are connected to the ship's systems.

Mauser Baltin MGL 27 firings

Article Abstract:

Mauser recently conducted a firing of a prototype of its MGL 27 light naval gun. The MGL 27 is based on the BK 27 gun used by the German Air Force's Tornadoes. It is intended for smaller military craft and also for commercial ships which need self-defense capability. In the test firing conducted, the MGL 27 was bolted on a solid base and does not require deck penetration. The gun is programmed to fire when a threat is identified and within range.

BGT's FPR uses GPS

Article Abstract:

The German Air Force has received the first production units of the Flight Profile Recorder (FPR) of Bodenseewerk Geratetechnik. The FPR is an advanced air combat training systems installed under an aircraft wing which records and surveys the flight path of the aircraft using the military Global Positioning System. The FPR can coordinate with other aircraft undergoing air combat training through a high-capacity data link.
