Dutch navy bucks the Western trend in its retention of CMS design and development

Article Abstract:

The Royal Netherlands Navy (RNLN) is retaining its in-house centre for combat management system (CMS) development by refusing the Western trend. The Centre for the Automation of Mission-critical Systems (CAMS-Force Vision) combines operational know-how and information technology expertise, provides through-life support and represents real value for money and it is responsible for the architecture design, development and production of the combat management systems for all classes of surface combatants.

Engineers want to go lighter for recovery, bridging, mine-clearing

Article Abstract:

The combat engineers are possessing an extensive range of specialized equipment, including Armored Engineer Vehicles (AEVs), Armored Vehicle Launched Bridges (AVLBs), line of communication bridges, and vehicles for clearing and laying minefields in order to carry out battle-field missions. This is a clear trend to develop specialized Combat Engineer Tank System (CEVs) and AVLBs on a tank chassis with the same level of protection and mobility.

Stork unveils first Netherlands Boxer

Article Abstract:

Stork PWV has brought out the first Netherlands-built Boxer 8X8 multirole armored vehicle built under the design and development phase of the German-Netherlands GTK/PWV (GepanzertesTransportkraftfahrzeug/Pantserwielvoertuig) program. The Boxer CP NL prototype is designed to perform command and control during combat operations over extended periods of time.
