Eyes wide shut

Article Abstract:

The review focuses on the ways in which the rigid and inflexible policies and the inherited organizational structure obstructs the implements of new changes in the U.S. Army, which is also highly affected by the level of technology and national force available to the military. The author suggests that in order to bring about the desired changes, the military mentality needs to be altered by understanding the external stimuli and the effect of doctrine on the strategies.

Wanted: Creative warriors: Pentagon forming Asymmetric Warfare Group

Article Abstract:

The U.S. Army has forced the Pentagon to create an enterprise known as Asymmetric Warfare Group, where creative military people will join forces in order to outsmart insurgents and terrorists. It is an effort to transform the task force into a permanent workforce wherein, military experts is always on call, ready to handle the latest challenges and real-world problems faced by ground commanders.

Misfire: Six reasons why the QDR won't matter

Article Abstract:

The QDR (Quadrennial Defense Review) report mentions about America's '' long war'' against terrorism and the cuts imposed by the budget on the Army's planned number of combat brigades. However when the smoke clears to reveal a reconciled Defense Authorization Act for 2007, it will be apparent that the QDR won't matter over the long run.
