The rise and rise of F-16 upgrades

Article Abstract:

The US Air Force (USAF) and F-16 operators from Belgium, Denmark, the Netherlands, Norway and Portugal are upgrading the capabilities of their combined fleet of 1,000 fully interoperable fighters. Upgrading Common Configuration Implementation Program (CCIP) F-16C/Ds and Mid-Life Update (MLU) F-16A/Bs would provide a high degree of commonality in hardware and software, with attendant benefits in logistics support costs, training, operational flexibility and future upgrades.

German army goes public with Puma IFV

Article Abstract:

The German Army's future Puma infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) made its public debut on 2 May 2006 during celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the Budeswehr in Munster, northern Germany. According to the manufacturers, the Puma design is optimized for peacekeeping and peace-enforcement-type operations that require a highly mobile weapons system ready for international deployment yet still providing protection against landmines, explosive devices and anti-armor weapons.
